Eye Chests are non-standard chests adorned with a strange eyeball that you'll encounter many times in Hogwarts Legacy. While opening them early in the game seems impossible, they're pretty simple once you've acquired a particular basic yet helpful spell. When you make it to the Restricted Section, you will be able to use the charm to open an Eye Chest for the first time. Before you get too close to the chest, you want to cast the spell and get close enough until you are prompted to unlock it.
Note that if you alert the Eye Chest and try to go invisible, the chest won't return to its dormant state—you'll need to walk away, cast the charm, and sneak up to open it.
