How to complete Like a Moth to a Frame and find all Moth Mirrors in Hogwarts Legacy

Unlike most other puzzles or collectibles in Hogwarts Legacy, you don't need to complete a quest just to start looking for Moth Mirrors. However, there's one sidequest called Moth to a Frame that serves as an introduction to the puzzle mechanics. You'll learn here how these puzzles are solved, as opposed to just stumbling upon them while exploring.

Basically, there's a student named Lenora Everleigh who's standing in front of a Moth Mirror in the Library Annex: Central Hall area. Talk to her and track Like a Moth to a Frame. To solve Hogwarts Legacy Moth Mirror puzzles, you simply need to do the following:

  • Cast Lumos on the Moth Mirror and it will reveal a clue to a nearby location.
  • Go to that location and you'll find a flying moth. In this side quest, it's in the opposite side of the hall.
  • Cast Lumos to attract the moth and bring it back to the mirror. This will spawn a Field Guide Page that you can grab. In fact, every Hogwarts Legacy Moth Mirror you complete will net you another Field Guide Page.

The moth is marked only for this sidequest. Past this point, you'll simply need to pay attention to the clues. But, don't worry, we got your back. We list down all Moth Mirror locations in Hogwarts Legacy (relative to the closest Floo Flame), as well as where the magical insect itself can be found.

Lastly, bear in mind that some areas are inaccessible at the start of the game. In some cases, you need to learn the Alohom*ora spell. You might also have to collect Demiguise Statues/Moons to upgrade your lockpicking capabilities.
