The average first snowfall in Maine typically occurs sometime during the beginning of November, making September an extremely early first snowfall date!

Stratton is known for its heavy snowfall, with an average of over 100 inches annually, setting the record for Maine. Despite the challenges posed by the snow, the residents of Stratton and Eustis are well-prepared for the colder months.
Over the years, Hawaii has received some memorable snowstorms and record-breaking amounts of powder. In 1938, mount Haleakala's snowfall was over six inches at the peak. Recently, in 2021, Hawaii's three highest mountains (Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Haleakala were all covered in a substantial amount of snow.

It gets an average of 312 inches, or 26 feet, of snow per year. The city gets so much snow because parts of the city are at least 5,000 feet up. Aomori is high in the Hakkoda Mountains, and like most mountainous areas, the winters are pretty snowy.
