They are specifically required to: Carry out their responsibilities honestly, in good faith and with integrity, due care, competence and diligence. Never misrepresent or withhold material facts or allow their independent judgment to be compromised.

What is misconduct and example?

Is misconduct a crime?
Misconduct in the workplace generally falls under two categories. Minor misconduct is seen as unacceptable but is not a criminal offense (e.g. being late, faking qualifications). Gross misconduct can lead to immediate dismissal because it is serious enough and possibly criminal, e.g. stealing or sexual harassment.
With gross misconduct, you can dismiss the employee immediately as long as you follow a fair procedure. You should investigate the incident and give the employee a chance to respond before deciding to dismiss them.
