The VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies is a beauty therapy qualification. It is aimed at learners who don’t have a background in beauty therapy training but wish to get into the industry and progress on to levels 4 and above.

A combination of units from both level 2 and level 3 are provided to give the learner the understanding and knowledge they require to progress to level 4 and above. In order to complete the qualification the learner must achieve all the following mandatory units:

UBT285 Skin analysis and facial skincare M/650/6629

UBT286 Consultation and client care Y/650/6630

UBT287 Anatomy, physiology and pathology A/650/6631

UBT288 Electrical science D/650/6632

UBT289 Maintain health and safety in the salon F/650/6633

During the qualification, the learners will be taught about relevant health and safety requirements, anatomy, physiology and pathology and electrical science. They will also learn skin analysis and safe practice treatment protocols for facial skin care. As well as understanding how to consult clients, and provide relevant aftercare.

On completion of the qualification learners may move on then to:

  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Skin Needling
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Ultrasound
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Dermaplaning
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Scalp Micropigmentation
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Micropigmentation for Camouflage and Restoration

To be awarded the VCTC (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies all learners must pass all mandatory units, the external theory examinations and the practical assessments.
