Stopped at Clints for a takeout lunch while in Gatlinburg and was very satisfied. Its a little farther than we thought, but well worth it. Its a small place, but very clean and bright inside. Outside looks like a true mom & pop country place. The girl that took my order was very nice and Clint himself offered me a drink while I waited. Very friendly. And now for the good stuff..the bbq. You can tell it was smoked over some good wood. Not dry, but not fatty either. The sauce was tangy, but its not North Carolina style, if thats what you are looking for. Would go back again if in the area.
What Dining in America should be. My girlfriend and I went to Clints as Tourists from Florida in mid september. I am currently a waiter and know what great food and great service is all about. Ive never spent a $ at a place more deserving of my business than Clints. The food was the best I had in all of TN, the menu was large, the service was perfect, and the life music was great. But the best part of the visit was having the owner Clint visit my table and have a real, genuine conversation. Not only did he make us feel so welcome he was wise enough to realize that regardless if we had GPS, giving us one of his maps with personalized driving instructions was just what we needed. If you want a memorable experience and like to be treated like family visit Clints.
The food here is good, but out of all the BBQ places around the area this has to be my least favorite. At the time I was there the service was very slow, even though it wasn't busy. The decor is very cool, and people there are very friendly. I like it but I don't love it and usually go somewhere else for BBQ.

Great food! Wonderful atmosphere! Great live music! Had such a great time! Thanks a million!
The dude gave us moonshine in a FedEx Kinkos bag, then he died of a heart attack a year later.
